In medieval times in Japan there were many military drills and martial arts that the samurai disciplines were training and suited for their particular form of fighting. Amongst those was the art of jujutsu which in turn led to judo. There is some confusion about the exact history of jujutsu and judo.

It is thought that jujutsu came from samurais, the Japanese word for thieves and ninjas, though it could also have come from ju-jutsu (the modern day judo).

Jujutsu was developed to counter the strikes of the katana warriors of the feudal Japan. The katana, like all swords, is a compound mace or sword designed for quick and strong attacks on the enemy, usually in a single stroke. These maces were designed to pierce the soft tissue such as the bones and even the flesh, but they could not be brought down by blows with the unarmed hand or any other weapon.

This made them ineffective for use in close quarter fighting when an enemy was close enough to be a real danger. To overcome this problem, jujutsuists developed joint-locking throws, where the user was locked in a fierce combination of techniques, allowing him to incapacitate his opponent with the least amount of damage done.

As it became more popular with the general population in nineteenth century Japan, jujutsu began to be referred to as Judo. This was not only to distinguish the arts from the rest of the martial arts, but also because the two disciplines often happened to be sparring sports in the dojo.

The throws were based around the same basic locks used in jujutsu but there were differences in the way that they were applied. Many martial artists would continue to perform simple joint locks while others perfected the complex lock-ons and throws.

While the Olympic sport of judo was originally started as a combat sport, it soon developed into a more artistic form. There are many forms of judo such as Meikyu Judo, originally intended to be a competitive sport. Today it is a popular martial art for those who want to learn about the spiritual side of the Japanese culture.

Jujutsu is still practiced extensively in Japan today and has been for several centuries. Many schools have developed over the years that are dedicated to the art, but there is no official recognition or government approval for the various schools.

Most practitioners feel that it is important to travel back in time and perform these techniques in an atmosphere like the one they find in their native country. Whether or not the methods they performed in the past are still applicable in the present time is debatable.

One of the most famous forms of jujutsu is Aikido. Aikido means “the way of the sword”. It is a form of martial arts that originated in the early twentieth century from a teacher named Ueshiba. The technique was originally practiced in the Japanese martial art dojo called the Aikido Dojo. There were many martial arts schools which taught Aikido, but the most famous was a dog called the Tokyo Dojo. It was founded by Minoru Mochizuki.

One of the key principles of jujutsu is learning to fight using the highest level of skill and technique. This principle is also applied to jujutsu. This does not mean that the martial artists practicing jujutsu are able to fight with animal-like strength, it simply means that they are able to fight using the highest level of skill possible.

Even though they are not wearing any weapons, they are able to defeat opponents who are much stronger than they are.

It should be noted that ju-jitsu is different from other forms of martial arts such as Karate, Kung-Fu, Taekwondo, or Kenpo.

These other styles are known for their ability to be used in close combat and have incorporated weapons into their forms. Jujutsu is an art that can be practiced by anyone. It also teaches its students how to gain self-confidence by overcoming whatever challenge they may face in the streets.
